A mediation practice helps transform our lives but it can be difficult to know where to start and how to do it. I would recommend attending a local class but in the absence of that here are some useful sites which provide a number of different meditations for you to try.
Meditation Oasis: this website has lots of information about mediation but the thing I like best are all the amazing podcast mediations she has made available. They cover a huge range of subjects and lengths so there is something for everyone. I download them onto my i-pod which means I can carry them with me and use them whenever I feel the need.
Tara Brach: “Her teachings blend Western psychology and Eastern spiritual practices, mindful attention to our inner life, and a full, compassionate engagement with our world.”
Tara makes her talks available which are not only enlightening but entertaining too, she has a way of telling stories which is very engaging, whilst also carrying a deep and meaningful message. Again I download her talks and listen to them while walking and resting. She also has many meditations which help learn about and cultivate mindfulness.
